#FreeKaavan: The life-changing journey of a giant!

It was definitely not an easy mission. It was an emotional rollercoaster for everyone involved... But all of the efforts of the iconic American singer and actress Cher as well as of our very own Dr Amir Khalil and his team paid off when Kaavan was finally able to leave Pakistan after 35 years and start a new life in the jungle enclosures of the Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary.

In our brand-new video, we take a look back at this unforgettable rescue mission. Watch till the end to see how all our work comes to fruition with Kaavan meeting other elephants and having a spacious and species-appropriate home that he deserves.

Elephant poaching is an epidemic worldwide. Before his rescue, captive Asian elephants like Sanjay have their tusks cut off and sold on the black market. But at least selling ivory tusks is illegal ... It's unbelievable that it's perfectly LEGAL to sell other elephant body parts, like skin and hair. Help us ban the import and trade of ALL elephant body parts in the United States.
